Gotham lay cracked and crumbled, buildings destroyed. Some lives were lost, most were ruined. Rumors that Gotham could be hit again, harder spread like wild fire. The United States government ordered an evacuation of the entire city; those that remained were to be left to rot in a No Man's Land. Resources were short; the damage was extensive. Few were able to escape before the city was barricaded and blocked off from the rest of the world.

Crime now rules the city; split between the brute force mob bosses, sadistic and insane villains, corrupt and well meaning cops, and every day citizens and victims. And there's one man leading it all with a smile on his face: The Joker.

Where is the Batman
when his people need him?

Ace Chemical Processing Plant is one of the few large scale companies that's operating at the same level it was before the crime escalated in Gotham. Many citizens- and a few criminals- have an endearing sort of sentiment towards the plant.

Gotham General Hospital, rebuilt just a few years ago, had the best equipment and staff that could be found. Now it's fallen into disrepair and the doctors that chose to stay are lacking in most departments.

The Gotham Police Department was once something to be reckoned with when it came to the crime in the city. However the police in the city now seem to be composed of corrupt cops or ones that would rather remain behind a desk.

Robinson Park, located in the impoverished area of South Gotham, is an abundance of green -even in the water. Not much of a park for lover's lanes or children it, however, does attract less innocent sorts of people.

Patrons of the once thriving Church have seemed to have disappeared as of late. A few linger around and a few more come to pray for their lives. Rumors say that those seeking protection from the villains of the city can find it here.

Monarch Theater was an old fashioned movie theater house located not far from the Park Row district in Gotham City. The theater closed its doors some years later, but since that time it has been become one of many safehouses used by the mad Prince of Crime.

A trendy Gotham City nightclub owned by Oswald Cobblepot . The two-story, 12,800-square-foot restaurant and lounge included a large pool for pet seals and penguins in the center dining area, an iceberg-like sculpture in the pool, a ship themed dancefloor, and polar decor.

The seediest, grittiest part of Gotham. It's dangerous and dilapidated, and the residents of the city often view the area as the slums of Gotham City. The area is located on an island in the middle of Gotham River between Midtown and Downtown, connected to Gotham proper three drawbridges and a tunnel. Arkham Asylum is located in this area, at the East end of the Narrows. It was home to another attempted evacuation, hoping to remove the sane inhabitants after the mass breakout from Arkham.

The streets of Gotham city, though cracked, broken, and more dangerous than ever, are still alive with people who are trying to survive the turmoil. There are still a few businesses, some less than reputable, along these lanes. The majority of the shopfronts, however, are just empty shells.

One of the few still standing sections of the destroyed section of Arkham. One wall and parts of the ceiling are missing, exposing it to the outside elements. It's chained off from the rest of the Asylum, but that won't stop a curious doctor or a rule-breaking patient.

Therapists may retreat to their soundproof offices to escape the terrors and noises of the asylum. Weekly sessions with patients are also held inside of them. Furniture is minimalistic and bolted down. Decoration and personalization is forbidden.

Located in the dirty south of Gotham, the apartment building has held everyone from pimps to villains and been infected with everything from cockroaches to smilex. Floor 7 has rain damage, and Floor 12 is in rubles. There are plenty of vacancies on the others, though.

The Brentwood neighborhood ranges in size and status from one room shacks on the edge of the city to family style ranches fit for 5. The heroes and villains seem to stray from this neighborhood- it's just no fun.
