The Joker escaped Arkham Asylum with help of a harlequin-looking accomplice. Dr. Harleen Quinzel is assumed to be kidnapped.
CRIME RATE SKYROCKETS UPON DISAPPEARANCE OF BATMAN
With Batman having vanished since he had been charged with murder, Gotham City's crime rate has reached all-time highs. Other heroes and vigilantes have been seen in Gotham in an effort to help lower the crime rate, but the newly passed Keene Act makes them part of the criminal population.
