Well, in the original canon, Barbara is Jim's daughter. In the newer canon, she is simply his niece and adopted daughter. Later in the comics, it's revealed that Jim had an affair with Babs' mother, Thelma, resulting in Jim being her biological father and not her uncle. After that was revealed, all I could find was that Jim's wife (also named Barbara) divorced him and gained custody of their son, James Jr., and moved someone far from Gotham. Chicago sticks out in my mind, but I don't think that's it. Anyway, Gordy and I were hoping to touch on this interesting family dynamic. Any suggestions?

I really like this idea! I think it will be interesting to play out and definetly adds a very nolanverse feel to the whole situation, very true to life. So I've gathered from your thread with Jim that Babs doesn't know he's her actual father? When she discovers the truth it could cause some definite waves not only for Babs but for all of the heroes as Babs deals with it.

Yeah, Babs has no clue. I need to do some research, but I don't remember how Babs found out, or if she ever did. Depending on what that bit of research turns up, I'm going to find a way to fit it into the Nolan-verse somehow.

Hmmm. It would be interesting if we got a Sarah. As her affair with Jim was played a huge roll in his divorce of Barbara. (Though, she does get killed in the end of No Man's Land. >.>) I doubt we will however. I don't think I've ever seen someone play her.
Perhaps that could play some sort or roll anyways?

Yeah I definitely wouldn't mind touching on this, or building up to it soon. I'm not sure where we want to go in this Visitation Rights thread. I reckon Barbara and James might've moved back to Chicago, I know that Jim and Barbara definitely moved to Gotham from Chicago in the first place.
And yeah, it would be epic if we could get a Sarah Essen, but she's a smaller character and not many people want to play her.
I think we just need to figure out a way for Babs to find out, but I'm not sure how she found out originally in the comics either.
