Lucian was walking the streets of gotham city. To where? Nobody really knew but himself. Yet he didn't seem to be in a very good mood right now. His anger could be seen on his face. He had a blue leather jacket on with black jeans. His gun was hidden in the back of his pants He has his designer black shoes on as well. Of course he didn't go anywhere without something to smoke. Today it happened to be a cigar. He took a puff as he continued to walk in the dark night. Rain drops fell onto his face but he didn't seem to mind. He liked the rain. It was better then the hot sun. He stopped in front of the quiet and dark Saint Hubertus church. He wasn't a real big church goer but he decided that it would be quiet their. Besides everybody has a few things they wish to repent. He on the other hand had a list. He didn't come here to repent though. He came here for business. Even though it was kinda more like very bad to kill a priest in church it was his job for tonight. He really didn't want to have to do it but a job was a job. He stayed outside for a moment to finish the cigar he already started. Their was no need to waste it. Priest lived here anyway. He was in no rush at all. He finished the cigar after about ten more minutes. Then he stepped on it to make sure it wasn't still lit. He walked towards the door and wondered how he was supposed to do this. The only problem when he walked in was that the priest wasn't here. That sucked for him. It was an inconvenience for him. None the less he would wait for the father. He waited in the back with a bible in his hand. It opened to a page that said “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” It was strange to him. He felt like he understood the word. It bothered him though. He knew for sure their was no space for him in heaven. He felt like that since he was a child so their was no reason to fell stressed. He just sat their and kept reading while he waited for someone to show up. Even if it wasn't who he was waiting for. Not being an overly religious person, meeting at a church made Barbara slightly uncomfortable. But it was Lucian St. Marks, the best of the best, so whatever he wanted, he got. She had called for the meeting and she was simply going to have to grit her teeth and deal with his...holy venue. Getting into the church was no easy task. It was times like that, Barbara really hated being in a wheelchair, more so than usual.
As soon as she entered, she noticed that she and Lucian were the only ones around. That was perfect, considering the subject of her request to meet with him. At first, she had simply wanted some information, see if he had any contacts that could help her in her journey to walk again. But then she had heard a rumor. Rumors in any other city, she would simply ignore. But this was Gotham and this rumor concerned the only real father she ever had, her Uncle Jim. Barbara needed to know if it was true that Lucian had Jim on his hit list.
Barbara rolled up beside the pew he was in quietly and settled back, relaxing herself. "Luke 21:19: Let your patience possess ye your souls." Barbara quoted from her childhood memory of church goings with her Aunt and Uncle. She may not be very religious now, but certain scriptures did stay with her. "Sorry I'm late. Stairs," she offered by way of explanation. "So, I guess you're wondering why I asked to meet."

A few minutes before Barbara entered the church the priest was killed. As he walked down the pews the bullet pierced his chest. Lucian sat in his seat to wait for her to come. He was kinda being sacrilegious to kill and then smoke in church while waiting for a friend.
He heard her roll the wheelchair into the church and sat turned with the cigarette still in his mouth. He was surprised she didn't notice the dead body in the middle of the aisles. He listened to her mention of a quote from the bible.
"Sorry bout the church but I had business to take care of. Besides the fact that this meeting was really planned last minute." He actually did want to know why she wanted to meet with him. He take another puff on the cigarette before he spoke again. "Actually I do want to know why you wanted to meet in such short notice."
He thought it would probably be about information but he didn't have much for her at the moment. All he really had was information on a few mob bosses who wanted his services. He didn't want to mention to her who one of the hits where.
If she knew they would probably be at each others throats. "But you can't even say hello before you get down to business? How are you doing Barbara.?"

"You shouldn't smoke in a church. It's bad karma. Bad for your health, too," she advised him while taking the cigarette out of his mouth and putting it out. He apologized about the church, informing her that he had business. She had been so distracted and upset about the stairs, she honestly hadn't noticed the body. Now she did though. The stench of blood wasn't something one easily forgot.
Sighing in shocked, she was tempted to smack Lucian. "And so is killing a priest! Christ, I hope you checked the church beforehand and used a silencer. Last thing I need is my dad showing up at the same time I'm around a dead body."
"Actually I do want to know why you wanted to meet in such short notice." She had opened her mouth to reply when he suddenly cut her off. "But you can't even say hello before you get down to business? How are you doing, Barbara?"
Eyebrow quirked, Barbara stared at Lucian for a moment. Normally, he was never one for small talk. "I'm fine, all things considered. And yourself?" she answered, cautious and confused. "Down to business. I know that my dad is on your hit list. Don't ask how, just know I have many contacts. What I need from you is the name of whoever gave you his name. Right now."

He didn't say anything about her throwing his cigarette out. He had more and she was actually right he shouldn't have been smoking in the church anyway. He did get a little annoyed about the fact that she questioned what he did on a regular basis. "The church is empty except for this one." He looked down at the body as his blood filled the church. It was one of the most disgusting things to see. Yet he was required to do things like this on a regular basis. He was used to it.
"You should know by now that I don't just run around and shot. I've been watching him for two weeks. I know his routine by heart. You should know by now that I don't screw up." Their was a serious tone in his voice. To prove his point he pulled out the silenced pistol. Then she spoke about the situation with gordon.
"I am not allowed to give you that information." He replied quickly. "What would be the point of you finding out who did it? Are you planning on stopping me Babs?" He knew she would probably try and stop him. It was her family after all. He was a little aggravated though. She knew him better then that.

"The church is empty except for this one. You should know by now that I don't just run around and shot. I've been watching him for two weeks. I know his routine by heart. You should know by now that I don't screw up." Barbara looked at him as he pulled out the silenced pistol.
"Of course I know better! It's not as if I don't have people questioning my own skills, and I'm not questioning your dedication to your job," she assured him. If a job was really what you could call it. Murder was never an option in the Bat Family and, while Barbara knew it was a part of life, she never could stomach it. That part of her moral code made her...friendship, she supposed it was, with Lucian all that much harder. And so did her demand about who put out the hit on her father.
"I am not allowed to give you that information," he replied quickly. "What would be the point of you finding out who did it? Are you planning on stopping me Babs?" Barbara glared at him and subtly reached for the Rattan sticks that she always carried. Just because she was confined to a chair now, didn't mean she became lax in her self-defense. Lucian may be a master of guns, but she was still a master of martial arts and guns didn't scare her anymore. Not really.
"If I have to? Yes, I will stop you. By any means necessary," she informed him, dead serious as she glared. Taking a deep breath, Barbara tried to remain calm. "I don't like it when people threaten my family, Lucian. So I'm only going to ask you nicely one more time. Who was it?"

He was uninterested by her threats. If she was to do something she would have done it by now. He didn't have time to play games either. He didn't feel like killing another tonight. Even if it was probably required if she did attempt to hurt him. She wasn't weak because she was in a chair. He was well aware of that.
He didn't even have time to argue. He leaned against the pew his head looking into the sky. He didn't feel like answering the question so he had to think about answering it for a few minutes before finally doing it.
He fixed the gun so it was again in the holster in his back. He smirked a little at the thought of her stopping him. He hasn't been caught yet so how could she be so sure she would be successful. It made him sit up again when she said that. Looking her dead in the eye from close distance.
"regardless of the fact that he is your family what makes you believe that you can stop me. I have no interest in these games. If you are sure about your ability to do so stop me." His face started to turn a deep red. He wanted to ignore the aggravation and did. After saying that he just laid back again.
"If it satisfies you I don't know who sent the hit. Are you happy now?"

Barbara watched him, waiting patiently for an answer. As he sighed and looked towards the ceiling, it was all too obvious that he was taking his time. That he was thinking of an answer. It hurt to think that Lucian would lie to her; sure, they weren't friends, not really, but she expected more from him than to lie to him. As he put his gun back into its holster, Barbara finally loosened her hold on her Eskrima sticks.
Looking her dead in the eye from close distance, he answered, "Regardless of the fact that he is your family, what makes you believe that you can stop me. I have no interest in these games. If you are sure about your ability to do so, stop me." His face started to turn a deep red, most likely frustrated with her, as he laid back again.
"It's the fact that he is my family that makes me know I can stop you if I have to," she replied. "And you should know by now, I don't play games either. So let's get to the point."
"If it satisfies you, I don't know who sent the hit. Are you happy now?"
Barbara sighed as she leaned back in her chair. Eyes closed and frustrated, she ran her hands over her face and through her hair until they settled on her neck. "No, Lucian, it doesn't satisfy me and I'm not happy." Rubbing the tension, she thought about the various possibilities. Anyone in Arkham with half a brain could've done it, which left a few options. And there were still numerous mobs in Gotham that held a grudge against Jim in particular, because of his connection to Batman. That was a lot of people for her to narrow down alone. "My aunt hates me; don't know why. And I haven't seen my cousin in so long. Jim is the only real family I have left. I'm not letting you take him without a fight."

"Confidence is such a horrible thing. It could help you at times but at other times it can destroy you." She continued to speak but he didn't know exactly what to say anymore. He couldn't be mad at her for wanting to protect her family. He would probably do the same for his family.
He cared about them but he didn't fell the need to be threatened by her. He closed his eyes while he was looking up. "Barbara can I ask you a question? You consider me a friend right? I don't think people should hurt their friends and if you interfere you know what I will be forced to do. Don't you?"
He most certainly meant he would either hurt her or kill her. He didn't want to have to do that and that was the nicest way he could think of saying it. It wasn't any better way to say it. It was pretty much the only thing he could say. He hoped she understood but he was pretty sure she would not back down. Her bravery kinda made her attractive.
It wasn't like her uncle was popular with the people of gotham. Many of the criminals in gotham disliked him. Since she knew so many people she should be able to find out who sent the hit herself. It didn't matter to his who sent it anyway. He had gotten paid in advance. So now it was imperative that he got the job done.
